"Blown Up" remains of Corfe Castle's Wall


The ruined remains were actually ruined by being blown up with gunpowder by the parliamentarians, after the Civil war. They, like all before were unable to take the castle except by betrayal from within, so did not want to risk it getting back into their enemies hands.
